THE HISTORY OF SHOEMAKING

Cesare Martinoli - Caimar has been operating since the 1940s in Vigevano as an artisan shoe factory for women,

offering shoes with a unique style and highest quality at the same time.

The Cesare Martinoli - Caimar shoe factory was actually founded in 1944 when Cesare Martinoli, a young manager of one of the largest shoe factories in Italy,

decided to found his own company together with his wife Carolina and some colleagues.

From the outset, the elegant ladies' shoe was chosen as our flagship product and constant research and investment was made into this.

Another goal pursued from the early years and never abandoned was to turn towards export.

By the early 1950s, a large part of the shoes we produced were sold abroad.

While Cesare dedicated himself to design, administration and sales, his wife Carolina and sister Giovanna took care of production with devout attention and a search for perfection in every detail, from the choice of leathers to the stitching of the uppers and finishing.

Today, Cesare Martinoli - Caimar is an internationally recognised luxury shoe producer.

Our shoe factory is an important benchmark for the creation and production of women's footwear lines for some of the best known fashion brands.

Almost 80 years have passed since the first shoe was produced, but some of the noblest principles of the company's founding have never faltered, in particular the constant pursuit of product excellence and above all the family and human spirit that unites the Martinoli family and its employees now as then.
